PACKAGING
Gillespie’s Ginger Beer is a premium product and is packaged accordingly.
The basic theme of the product is one of nostalgia - designed to evoke memories of older times. The product is therefore brewed and sold in a glass not
plastic bottle (this is also necessary to preserve the flavour). Also in
keeping with the theme of the product is the use of old fashioned paper
straws as opposed to plastic. Gillespie’s went to great lengths to locate
a manufacturer of paper straws and they are a major selling point (Note: there are no straws in the alcoholic gift pack). All of
the components of the product are completely recyclable. These elements
we feel combine to bring the experience that is Gillespie’s Tasmanian Ginger
Beer.
Over the past few years Gillespie’s have also been selling both the alcoholic and the traditional ginger beers in three packs. These have proved particularly popular as gifts and with those who wish to take bottles away as opposed to immediate consumption.
PRODUCTION DETAILS
Yearly Output
Gillespie’s produce in the region of 50,000 bottles per year and employ
five people casually. This output can be readily increased dependant upon
demand.
Shipment Details
One pallet of product (whether alcoholic or traditional) can consist of;
48 cartons of three packs with 8 three packs per
carton.
Or
96 cases of single screw top glass bottles with 12 bottles per case.
Or
a combination of three packs and regular cases.
The dimensions of a pallet are 1.2m x 1.2m x 1.15m = 1.6 cubic metres or
672kg.
Generally Gillespie’s work with 20’ foot containers which consists of 10
pallets, however we are also able to work with 40’ foot containers if required.
Six to seven weeks lead time is required for shipment of traditional and alcoholic ginger beer orders in the region of a container or more.
